Now let us consider a contemporary feeling instead of a traditional hierarchical disposition. astrology is about "activation" in the first place. There is also the guideline that a larger orb can have a more "present" effect at least in some situations. there is even exponentiality as it gets to 0. there is a rule where a Minor aspect closer orb would have more of an effect than a Major aspect medium orb. Subjective freedom is not only an opinion, and it is true that certain planets are pedestaled in the chart (rulers, singletons, triplicity, chart location). Having said all that, the wider the orb (usually) the less prominent the aspect is in your personality and life. In the end, so long as you're not making up orbs of 12/13+ degrees, then it's a question of how you feel about it. And it's important to look for themes in a chart too, in which case wider orbed aspects may just reinforce an existing theme that is recognisable to you. There is also a difference between a wide orbed aspect on its own, and one tied into a stellium for instance. But many people I know with very wide orbed conjunctions, for instance, feel that these (the most powerful aspect) are very prominent in their lives. I think wider orbs in general, especially with minor aspects, are like a background influence. You know, I'm strongly of the opinion that it's absurd to adopt a fixed rule that is supposed to apply to everyone: the real question is, do some of your wider aspects 'feel' right to YOU? You may find some do and some don't.

The written symbols for Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn have been traced to forms found in late Classical Greek papyri. In the original papyri of these Greek horoscopes, there was a circle with the glyph representing shine ( ) for the Sun and a crescent for the Moon. Symbols for the classical planets, zodiac signs, aspects, lots, and the lunar nodes appear in the medieval Byzantine codices in which many ancient horoscopes were preserved. Other symbols for astrological aspects are used in various astrological traditions. Their current form is a product of the European Renaissance. These originate from medieval Byzantine codices. Frequently used symbols include signs of the zodiac and classical planets. Historically, astrological and astronomical symbols have overlapped. It's believed that people born in a given year have the personality of that year's animal.įor example, if you're born after January 27 in 1998, your Chinese zodiac sign is the Tiger as 1998 was a year of the Tiger (beginning at Chinese New Year). People with intense relationships to Sirius often feel like they’re the dark sheep in the family. Especially when Sirius hard aspects the Moon, it creates a sense of cultural alienation. The name Sirius comes from Osiris, who replaced Anubis (another dog) as the god of the underworld.Īll of the clients who have hard personal aspects with Sirius have some kind of relationship with some kind of lone wolf complex, which it’s something that they see shape their own lives or whether it’s shaped the personality of someone close to them. Homer called it Orion’s dog, east Asians called it the celestial wolf, and indigenous Americans called it Moon Dog or coyote. In almost every story that I could find regarding Sirius, it’s a dog. Over the years, after working with numerous clients around Sirius, I’ve learned about its connections with alienation, cultural memory, and simulacra. At first, Sirius was just something I noticed. Sirius shows up in the charts of my clients way more than any other fixed star. I don’t know why but it’s something that happens more than it’s supposed to, statistically speaking. I have a lot of clients who have hard personal aspects to Sirius-a fixed star at 13º Cancer. |
